Computer technology takes the lead…

The European Patent Office has published stats for patent filings in 2024. Not surprisingly, there has been an increase in AI & Battery inventions meaning for the first time computer technology based applications have taken the lead. Samsung is the new top applicant, overtaking LG & Huawei and the US has maintained it’s position at the top for the origin of applications. 1 in 4 applications filed at the EPO last year named at least one female inventor.
